A few interesting comparisons

well, we can start with a few here:

  • an IITian and a Dog
here are a few common ones that you get to hear...

Differences:
  1. An IITian has to clear the JEE to get in, a dog does not.
  2. Dogs get laid in kgp, IITians don't (neither do they want to).
  3. Dogs don't mind being treated like dogs
  4. The rare occasions on which they have to enter the SBI branch, they have a much better experience than us.
Similarities:
  1. Both breeds get treated as dogs.
  2. Both get to eat mess food, but dogs have more alternatives.
  • IIT and Jail
Differences:
  1. In jail, your term can be of less than a month. In an IIT, its at least 4 years.
  2. In jails, one must be getting more holidays.
  3. In IIT, you get LAN facilities which we don't suppose jails provide :D.
  4. Jails have uniforms.
  5. Inmates in jails have baths more frequently!
  6. You can actually smuggle anything in jails...even (Gasp!!) good food!!
  7. Jails are devoid of a point system... but you can get out early for good conduct. In IIT, your sentence... i mean your stay, can only increase(unless you commit that suicide you've always wanted to...)
  8. Life in jail is filled with hope and anticipation of a better life...
Similarities:
  1. Jails have facilities for solitary confinement but only for a few special cases, IIT (i know only abt mine) also has facilities for solitary accomodation and those too for a few cases only.
  2. Mess foods must be comparable. (Anyone been both places?? need ur opinion here)
  3. Getting into both, you must be a victim of your own deeds.
  4. To both the jail administration and the IIT administration, you aren't a human being, you are a number.
  5. Both, Hostels and prisons have 'wardens' :D
More comparisons invited!!!

pingi and the may-day train

kya re... u cud've easily got a berth on that 1st may train... saath chalte mazaa aata... doh the journey wasnt too uneventful... outraged at the typical UP civic sense (shamelessly i can pin point it as that) i got one old man to go sit somewhere else than putting his ass in my face... but the ones sitting a bit below... cudnt get them to move... one thot he was too right and i was too wrong... well yes i apologised to him for shouting out loud aftr my joining hands to plead them to move had no effect, apologised cuz he was pretty old... and the third was too old. i didnt mind him sitting out there (there comes another biased mind).
but yeah... i'd thot kgp jaake achha khaaasa blogpost ho sakta hai iske upar. now i decide against it. wont write anything depressing... hmm dunno aftr reading chatty's blog yesterday i feel such things do move ppl...
the thing is it makes me very sad being an Indian when there r older ppl like those who wont move their butt off my berth to teach their children the rules and all... when there r those who r wrong but they think they r too right becuz wrong has been done too often and is so prevelant they hav adapted it as right. for what i feel is right might b righter than what the majority i face in such a situation feel... for it is difficult to make them understand cuz even aftr ur apologising to them if u tell them politely what u think is right is righter than wht they think is right, they wont lend n ear... cuz sucha a thing is very unheard of... cuz there hav been sparks but none ever led to a fire... cuz the wood was too alive, though it was old enough to burn... that is the point he made was strongly made enough to make him right and make him shut his understanding for the need to change, however dated or flawd it was... India has abt a sixth of the world's humans. but that doesnt make general bogies sleepers or sleepers generals... that doesnt mean a TTE takes money and gives u a berth to share wid someone who was already guaranteed a full berth... that means theres a need to change... not to amend... but to transform our systems... to make rules and make ppl follow them... even to stop ppl frm defecating in the open... the govt has really done a few good things to the country... even if a reservation thing was a bit pointless nd all.

tapas

i'll say a 'the li'l miss sunshine' type thing is going on with this guy... he had plans for his summer stay at kgp but they all dried out in the heat here... he'll b back... sadly enjoying (dont know y sadly) at some nice place and will even get a training to write abt in his CV... lets hope u'll wait to at least get a glimpse of our dear presi yaar...
hmm but i also hope to see u back sooner than others :) if possible do try... for ur plans and for some of mine too :|
hmm... chalo this reminds me i'v to finish my qouta of ur namkeen... rightly u shudnt b eating any of it, u'll get it back at home... :| but yea i hav mine to finish as well...
